In October 2021, the 77th IATA AGM approved a resolution for the global air transport industry to achieve new-zero carbon emission by 2050, aligning with the Paris Agreement goal for global warming to exceed 1.5°C. The biggest contribution to the overall target is through using Sustainable Aviation Fuels, and the second being a focus on offsetting & carbon capture along the aerospace value chain.
